Evidence Technician Larry Perdue Wilson
Prior to joining the Raeford Police Department, Larry's extensive experience included 27 years of law enforcement. Starting out with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, he began as a crime scene technician/criminal analyst. He also took part in the evidence response team and the identification unit.
Larry moved back to North Carolina in 1977 and attended the S.B.I/NC Justice Academy. He was then assigned to the Mount Airy area where he conducted criminal investigations. In 1979 he was appointed by Governor Jim Hunt as a Special Investigator. Under the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office, Larry was assigned as Commissioner of Motor Vehicles reporting to Elbert L. Peters, where he processed auto theft. He was later assigned to the U.S. Federal Task Force and processed major crime scenes based out of District 5 in the Winston-Salem region.
In 1997, Larry transferred to Raleigh where he was assigned to C.C.B.I. /N.C. State Bureau of Investigation and to the Wake County District Attorney’s Office.
Larry has achieved numerous awards and educational achievements including a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminology, and an M.B.A. in Criminology, both from the University of Virginia in Alexandria. He is a graduate of the FBI Academy, the International Academy of Criminology, and the NC Institute of Government in Chapel Hill. Larry has obtained certification in Criminology Forensic Science Technology and was awarded the Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate.
